Lots readers have been asking if there are any LG Dare spy apps available.  Unfortunately, neither Mobile Spy, or other vendors sell any spy apps that support the LG Dare.  The reason being is that the LG Dare does not use a supported operating system such as Android, Symbian, or Windows Mobile.  LG Dare uses a proprietary OS, that has some cool features, but for anyone who wants to monitor an LG Dare, you are out of luck.  If you really do need to get your hands on LG Dare spy software to monitor your child or employee, here are a few tips.

1) Avoid bluetooth spy software. The LG Dare has bluetooth, so some will wonder if the bluetooth spy software sold by numerous companies online will work on the LG Dare.  The answer is a BIG no.  Bluetooth spy software doesn’t work period.  At one point in time, it did work when it was built as a proof of concept to demonstrate security holes in bluetooth.  However, these days cell phone manufactures have plugged those holes, so the bluetooth software does not work anymore.  I have no idea why they continue to sell it, but perhaps that’s why most of the vendors have a strict no refund policy.

2) Try a reverse cell phone look up. This isn’t a perfect solution, but it works.  All you do is enter the number you want more info on, and then go to any of the popular reverse cell phone look up services and look up who owns the number. (Perfect for employers who want to verify that those long distance calls in the expense reports are actually work related.)

3) Online account. Most cell phone providers such as Verizon, provide an option where you can view your call and text message records online. Sign up for an account and you can see all the numbers your teen is frequently texting and calling.

4) Last resort. Another option is to try PC monitoring software. Why PC monitoring software? If you are unable to monitor their cell phone, at least you can monitor their PC, which will till contain a lot of information to ensure your kids or employees are staying out of trouble.
